The main campus
Stanford University is located on a campus that extends about 8180 acres (3310 hectares) in the San Francisco Peninsula, in the northwest part of Clara Valley Santa (Silicon Valley) approximately 37 miles (60 km) southeast of San Francisco and about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of San Jose.
